What is vaping?

Vaping is the inhaling of vapor created by an e-cigarette. The vapor created by an e-cigarette is usually a mix of nicotine, flavoring, and other chemicals.  

How does vaping work?

An e-cigarette changes the vape liquid to mist or vapor that goes into the user’s lungs. The vapor delivers nicotine, marijuana, or other drugs into the system via a mouthpiece. It is inhaled via the mouth and expelled through the mouth or nose. 

What are the different types of vaping devices?

1. Cigalike

A Cigalike is the most traditional form of an e-cigarette. As the name suggests, a Cigalike looks just like a cigarette, small and cylindrical. It was created as a way for people to quit smoking by switching to an e-cigarette that looks just like the real deal. Its design allows you to hold it like a cigarette, even the motion, and effort for drawing smoke in and expelling it requires the same motion as regular smoking. 

The biggest benefit of a Cigalike is that it’s easy to use. The biggest drawback is that it’s rather old technology so you might not find it easily. 

2. Vape Pens

A vape pen is one of the most common vaping devices. They're regularly featured in beginner's vaping kits because they're just that easy to use. They’re bigger than Cigalikes but portable, just like a pen. A vape pen's bigger size allows it to hold more liquid, so you won't have to change the liquid quite as often. 

 They have a good battery life that's generally dependent on usage. You can find them in many colors and sizes to match your aesthetic perfectly.

3. Vape Pods 

A vape pod is a compact vaping device that provides a great mix of benefits and features with ease of portability. It’s a newer option that’s gaining popularity steadily. Vape pods use refillable or pre-filled pods instead of a cartridge. They might even come with an LED screen that lets you know which setting you’re using in real-time. They’re a convenient option, perfect for beginners and regular vaping pros. 

4. Vape Mods

A vape mod is one of the most powerful vaping devices. It's well-suited for expert vapers who know exactly what they want their vaping experience to be. A vape mod lets you make bigger clouds in comparison to other vaping devices. It's not great for people trying to vape as a cessation tool for smoking. It's often paired with low or no-nicotine liquids to give the user the ability to make bigger clouds without a strong hit. What are the different styles of vaping?

Two main vaping styles are categorized based on how you inhale.

1. MTL (Mouth To Lung) Vaping

In this style, you inhale the vapor into your mouth and then transfer it to your lungs. It’s commonly used by people who are trying to use vaping as a cessation tool for smoking because it emulates the action of cigarette smoking. MTL vapers use an e-liquid with a high nicotine content for a strong hit. 

MTL vaping doesn’t produce big clouds. Many vapers prefer MTL vaping because it produces stronger flavors than DTL vaping. If you’re looking for a portable vape, you’re more likely to find an MTL vaping device. 

2. DTL (Direct To Lung) Vaping

In this style, you directly inhale the vapor from your device and into your lungs. While MTL produces stronger flavor, DTL vaping produces bigger clouds. DTL vaping generally uses low or no-nicotine-content e-liquids because you have to inhale a lot of vapor to produce clouds. It’s not ideal to consume nicotine in such content in one go. The main purpose of DTL vaping is to make clouds.
